140th Anniversary of The Russell: Pre-Race 'Pasta Party'
A 'Pasta Party' themed dinner in held Big School on Friday 6th March to commemorate the 140th running of The Russell run which will take place the following day.
This year marks the 140th running of The Russell at Blundell’s School and to commemorate this anniversary, we would be delighted to invite you to attend a celebratory Pre-Race ‘Pasta Party’ in Big School the evening before the race, Friday 6th March 2020. As many of you will no doubt be aware, the race itself was named after the famous Blundellian and West Country parson, Jack Russell. This event is part of the fabric of our school that has helped to shape Blundell’s into the vibrant and thriving establishment it is today, along with building the character and resolve of those who have taken on the challenge. The dinner is an opportunity to reminisce on the previous 139 running’s of the race and all those who have taken part in it, as well as recognising our local farming community and neighbours that have made this event possible for the last 140 years at Blundell’s.The evening will commence at 7pm and will feature a two course Italian themed dinner in Big School. There will be a cash bar available throughout the course of the evening and an area displaying some archived photos and footage of Russells gone by. It is very much a relaxed format hence we are encouraging members from across the Blundell’s Community to come along, including children, for what we hope will be an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal and catch up with members of the community before the 140th running of the event on the following day.Tickets are £22.50 and of course, anyone who would like to make a weekend of it and take part in the run itself the following day is very welcome to do so.For further information on the 140th anniversary dinner or the race itself, please contact the Development Office on firstname.lastname@example.org
