2025 Old Blundellian Day - celebrating 50 years of girls at Blundell's
14 June 2025
Arabella Whitehead nee Ashworth GH 1975-77, OB Day President and her reflections of the day:“I felt honoured to be asked to represent 50 years of girls at Blundell’s School through being President for the day at the OB event on 14th June 2025. My husband and I were met with such warmth and kindness.A beautiful service in the chapel provided the opportunity to reflect on one’s school days and celebrate pupils who continue to achieve highly both during their time at school and since leaving. The drinks reception and delicious lunch preceded speeches from the Mayor of Tiverton, Neil Davey, who gave updating information about local events, followed by the Head, Bart Wielenga, who spoke with much pride and positivity about the school and pupils. I gave a brief talk during which I reflected on the importance of the key values of kindness, compassion and respect for others that had underpinned my career and life after leaving school.I was most struck by the friendliness of everyone I met, evident through much camaraderie, chat, laughter and sharing of memories. It was wonderful to see the impressive timeline of girls at the school over the past 50 years that is proudly displayed in the clock tower, confirming that girls are now an integral part of this highly respected school.I would like to thank everyone who made the day so memorable and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to reminisce and catch up, through the endeavours of the extremely well-organised OB Club. I look forward to attending more events in the future.”Why not join us for next year’s Old Blundellian Day by saving the date of Saturday 13th June 2026
